It's understood that I been fan of Keyshia since hearing her early on mixtapes.
The album...feelin it.
But once this song hit radio, I was confounded lol...
Hearing her blow on the track is eargasmic...until you reach the chorus.
That's where confusion sets in.
It's similar to sometimes when you hear someone sing in church & you don't know whether they can sing or if you're just enjoying it because they're praising the Lord lol. In the latter case, you get outside & you tell somebody jokingly, "bless her heart, the child tried & she was singin for Jesus".
Whoever cleared this chorus to be on the album, I hate and love you at the same time.
It took many many months and hundreds of repeat listens for me to come to the decision that I like, regardless of how stressed out the chorus sounds. I've accepted it.

After giving this mixtape a thorough listen, I was pleasantly suprised.
Of course, "Hustlin" was well accepted off top, but "Chevy Ridin High"" didn't initally move me.
But now that I hear it in the context with the rest of his body of work it fits and I'm with it as well.
This collection is not overwhelming but instead very promising, as it's got a few standouts.
To compare his flow, I might throw him in the vein as Jeezy's charismatic voice, his own distinct lyrical ability that's accentuated with his history lending proof that he's in tune with the content he's speaking on.
